One of our Board Members, Cheryl Armatrading, has won the ‘greatest humanitarian honour’ at the Dr Pauline Long Awards.
Her award was for the endless and excellent service to humanity and actively participating in making this world a better place for all.
The Dr Pauline Long Awards celebrates the ‘diamonds who make this world a better place’.
Cheryl is the founder of the Antoin Akpom Achievements Foundation who are a charity that works with those with challenging behaviours and influence change. They deliver crime intervention workshops along with skills development programmes using the arts. The foundation also runs two annual award ceremonies and have, to date, presented 400 awards to young people and community organisation in Leicester and London.
Alongside all of this, they also work with primary schools delivering a Victim Awareness Programme looking at the impact of crime in our communities.
