Greatwell Homes has been awarded the Diversity Network Accreditation (DNA) following a robust assessment by HDN (Housing Diversity Network).

Julie Robinson, Executive Director at Greatwell Homes, said:

"This achievement is a testament to our ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment for everyone at Greatwell Homes. Since our initial assessment in 2021 and then reassessment in 2023 by HDN, it was highlighted that we’ve made significant strides in embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) into every facet of our organisation – completing nearly 40 recommendations from 2021."

  • Here are some key highlights from our reassessment:
  • Enhanced leadership and strategic focus on EDI: Our new corporate strategy, Live Greatwell+ 2025 – 2028 (launching in April), prominently features our commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring it’s central to our organisational objectives.
  • Strengthened staff engagement: Our Staff Forum, chaired by Julie Robinson, has created robust channels for diverse voices to be heard and influence key decisions.
  • Individualised training and development: We’ve implemented a new Training and Development policy that includes diversity-specific training, ensuring our staff are well-equipped to serve our diverse communities.
  • Improved data collection and utilisation: Our commitment to better data collection and usage of customer insight has enabled us to make informed decisions that drive impactful change.

Debansu Das, Chair of Housing Diversity Network, who presented the award to our Chief Executive, Jo Savage, said:

“Only a third of organisations pass our rigorous assessment. Greatwell Homes’ achievement is evidence that you must practice what you preach.

Well done to the team led by Julie Robinson and the Executive Team, Ben Wilesmith and Lorraine Gibson."

Julie Robinson added:

"I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Greatwell Homes who has contributed to this achievement, especially Ben Wilesmith, Lorraine Gibson and the entire Staff Diversity Group. Your dedication and hard work have been instrumental in making this possible.

As we look to the future, we remain committed to continuous improvement and to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and included. Together, we will continue to build great communities where people live well."
