Dear Candidate

Thank you for considering applying for the role of Board Member at Greatwell Homes. I am immensely proud to be taking on the role as the new Chair after four years of being a Board Member. I am looking forward to working with the existing and new Board Members, over the next few months and years, who I hope will share my enthusiasm for the organisation.

Greatwell Homes is based on strong values of Respect, Trust, Empowerment, being Efficient and Effective and working as One Team and these values flow from the current Chair Tim Davy and the Board at the very top of the organisation.

Our new Board Members will be joining us at an exciting time, with a real opportunity to influence the strategic direction as we work on our new Corporate Plan in 2018 ready for its launch from April 2019.

Our mission statement of providing great services and high-quality living environments reflects the balance we strive to achieve between providing much needed new homes and ensuring we support our existing estates and customers.

On the 10th December 2017 we turned 10 years old – that’s 10 years that Greatwell Homes have been providing great services and high-quality living environments. In that time, we’ve housed 25,500 people, built over 300 homes and carried out approximately. 173,810 repairs.

Our exciting ambitions include an agreement to develop an additional 1,000 homes over the next 10 years in addition to the 350 already in our pipeline refinancing our current funding to support these ambitions, undertaking significant estate improvements and identifying areas for regeneration. In recent times we have brought our repairs service in house and worked with Rentplus to provide an alternative rental and homeownership offer across Northamptonshire.

The new Board Members will need to show strong leadership skills as they will come at a time of significant change on the Board with the introduction of a number of new Board Members, the retirement of our highly respected Chair Tim Davy, and my new role taking over.

Greatwell Homes is financially strong and a well thought of organisation and the newly formed Board has a fantastic opportunity to lead us in the next stage of our journey.
