We have an exciting opportunity for an Income Recovery Officer to join our specialist team. Whilst specific income recovery experience is desirable, this is not essential criteria.

The successful applicant will play a key role in the delivery of an excellent target driven proactive service. You will have the confidence and communication skills needed to deal with sensitive issues and effectively maximise income for the Association whilst supporting our customers to sustain their tenancies.

Income Officers are responsible for the maximisation of income collection and arrears reduction on a patch of approximately 800 properties. You will be required to regularly monitor rent accounts to detect and prevent arrears in accordance with the Associations policies. You’ll be assisting tenants in financial difficulty, offering low level debt and budgeting advice and signposting them to support services for more complex matters. If preventative action fails, you would be required to take appropriate recovery action using legal processes up to, and including eviction stage.

The successful applicant will be a professional, articulate and well organised officer who has a solid knowledge of the legalities of housing and the income and debt side of housing. You will need to knowledgeable about Welfare Reform changes and their impact on social housing. A flexible attitude to both workload and working hours along with a strong commitment to continuous improvement is essential. The ideal candidate will have previous income recovery experience coupled with the ability to work well as part of a team to deliver to targets.
