Local housing provider builds 124 new homes in a year to help tackle the housing crisis [News Release – May 2019]

Northamptonshire-based housing association, Greatwell Homes, have had their biggest year to date in terms of development.

From April 2018 to March 2019, they built 124 homes in Northamptonshire – 78 more than the year before. The new builds consisted of flats and houses ranging from one to three bedrooms and were available for either affordable rent, shared ownership, rent to buy or market rent.

They have a development pipeline (either homes that have already started to be developed or are due to be started) of 362 homes and are also dedicated to providing 600 new homes in or around Northamptonshire by 2022.

Their new build homes being complete this year are based in Wellingborough, Kettering, Earls Barton, Raunds and Thrapston.

Jo Savage, Chief Executive at Greatwell Homes, commented: “We are delighted to be in a position where we can provide over 100 homes for local families in the area in only a year. We hope these diverse range of new homes can not only help to combat homelessness in the County, but also provide opportunities for local people to get onto the property ladder.”
