Whirlpool has issued a recall notice for a particular model of washing machine, which present a fire risk due to a faulty heating element.
The recall affects certain washing machines manufactured under the Hotpoint or Indesit brand, sold between 2014 and 2018.
Customers who are concerned about their washing machines can use Whirlpool’s online model checker to determine whether they are affected. If their washing machine is recalled, they will be able to choose either:
- A like-for-like replacement washing machine free-of-charge.
- A free-of-charge in-home repair.
Please note that this is separate to Whirlpool’s recall of tumble dryers, which was issued in July.
