Keeping your communities clean

We know you like your communities and green areas clean and tidy and we endeavor to keep them this way. There are, however, things that you can do to help us.

Fly tipping is becoming a big problem on our estates and as well as looking unpleasant, it can also be a health and safety hazard to those living near it.

Around two thirds of fly tips are household waste. Fly tipping is illegal and you could be fined or prosecuted.

There are local Household Waste Recycling Centres where you can safely and legally dispose of your waste – from garden and food waste, to electricals, cardboard, plastic and more. Please find a link to your local Waste Recycling Centre below:

What if you can’t get to the Waste Recycling Centres?

If you don’t drive or cannot get to your local Waste Recycling Centre, there are companies who can take your waste away for you. Please ensure that these are licensed companies or you will be liable for any of your waste that is fly tipped.

Suspect ALL waste carriers

Check with the Environment Agency on 03708 506 506 that the provider taking your waste away is licensed

Refuse unexpected offers to have waste taken away

Ask what will happen to your waste
