The company who services and repairs your boiler is changing

Every year, all customers have their boiler serviced as part of current safety regulations.

For the last three years this was done by a contractor, but from 1 November 2022 this service will be brought in-house and will be something that we provide. To deliver this work, we have introduced a new team called Greatwell Heating who will be responsible for servicing and repairing boilers.

The operatives from the previous contractor will be coming over to join our Greatwell Heating team, so you’ll still see some of the same friendly faces you’re used to. We’d like to thank them for their hard work over the last few years and we’re looking forward to welcoming them to Greatwell Homes.

As far as you, our customers, are concerned there isn’t anything you need to do differently, and you will still need to contact us if there are any problems with your boiler or heating. However, when you’re due a boiler service, you’ll receive calls and letters from us and our Greatwell Heating team, rather than our old contractor.

As weather conditions are due to worsen as we bring this service in-house, we know that there will be a high demand of people needing boiler repairs. Even though this will be new to us, we will endeavour to provide you all with the best possible service we can but we appreciate your patience as we migrate to Greatwell Heating. This is why checking your boiler is working as soon as possible is extremely important, so we can get you booked in early for your boiler repair.

As with all new things, this service will take a little while to embed properly into our organisation, but our overall aim of Greatwell Heating is to;

  • book your appointments in quicker
  • complete the repair on our first visit so we don’t have to book additional appointments
  • communicate better with you about your services and repairs


Servicing your boiler is extremely important

We’d like to remind you that not only are annual services of your boilers a legal requirement, they’re also extremely important for the safety of you, your family and your home. When you receive a letter from Greatwell Heating saying that you’re due a service, someone over the age of 18 must be at your home at the time of the appointment to let our operatives in. If you can’t make the day and time we’ve agreed with you, you can contact us and we can book another slot.

We really hope this doesn’t happen, but we have the right to take legal action on anyone who doesn’t let us into their home for a service.
